I suppose it could be corrected to be perfect but the alfine gives a 42.7mm chainline when the chainring is on the inner of the tabs. My hub gives 42.
I run a 1/8th chain with 3/32 chainring and sprocket so It's not at all noticeable, definitely a set up I'd recommend!
