Got hooked on the GT so much that I decided to build another one. It will be a winter beater/rat/pub bike...
The frame is GT Ricochet. Tange infinity tubes. Pretty beaten, lots of paintchips, couple of small dents, but fits the bill.

The frame came without the fork, so I had to find another... I was lucky and find a perfect match almost instantly. And it's a 1 1/8" threaded one. It's not a GT but a Rocky Mountain fork. It's made of Tange Prestige superlight tubing and it's crazy light. Only 720 grams.

I have all the parts ready, except the rear wheel...
Beaten Thomson, ripped flite Ti, ritchey triple butted handlebars (around 165 g uncut), zoom stem (also ridiculously light), ritchey stem and headset...
This will end up being a cool bike too...

Single speed aussi?

The first one just feels great. Can't get enough of riding it and once i saw this one for sale locally, decided to build one for winter. This one will also get a front rack and a rear cart for my dog :) can't wait to finish it.
This one will also be fixed gear. I'll see how the chain tension works on this one, if the magic gear fails, i'll go single speed with chain tensioner :)

What's the weight of the frame compared to the other one? Where did you find the fork, maybe if the steerer is long enough go threadless? Hope the magic gear works out!

The other one weighs around 10.8 kg fully built. This one seems lighter and with all the bits I'm planning to use, it will weigh at least 500g less. If not even less.
I found the fork locally. The steerer is the perfect length and I have two 1" quill stems to go with and a threaded 1 1/8" headset too. Never liked threadless stuff to be honest.

I have 2, The tidy one looks like this now, currently under development to become an off road/bmx track toy
The scruffy welded up frankenbike will hopefully become something a bit nicer, you've set the standard there!
I've also got a similar vintage Hardrock that'll got the retro MTB route

If you sold that Golf you have some more space...
Thanks again for the frame, it's already getting built up but if by any chance it doesn't get used i'll give you a shout and you can take it back

haha the golf is being taken off the road this month and being stored at my dads :( so that wouldn't solve it. New place is small and only has one car space...
I'm actually glad someone is going to build it up and use it, jus me being greedy :D
But thats a fucking cool offer, def hit me up if your going to move it on! Make sure pics are put up when built!

What's the black thing on the rear wheel?

Slam stem, go for risers.
I've never been a MTB guy but have had this lingering on my mind for the last year as a bit of a guilty pleasure fulfilling my Concorde fetish.

I have got a 1998 Kona Kilauea in a lovely mustard yellow if anyone wants to take it off my hands for a small fee....

Is it the model with straight steel forks? I'm sure someone would want that. Looks great as a single speed!

I have a slightly long 1995 GT Tempest that I gave to my GF. Anybody knows where to get a long and short quill stem? Or some bars with rise and back sweep?

What stem size does it take? 22.2 or 25.4?
My girlfriends rents live in eastleigh!! That link doesn't work but I'm guessing its this
I feel like it might be a bit small for me tho, 6ft appropriate?
@kifla salsa looks rad, original stem also rad
