Having already shed a tear at this awful news this morning, I later learnt that there is a husband and two young children that are now without a wife/mother. They only recently moved to London so husband has a very limited support network in London. One of the kids is away for half term. So desperately sad. Unimaginable loss. RIP. Condolences to all who knew her.

My condolences to the family this is really bad news.
I work in an office over the Underground station ironically I am currently doing a week long Heath and safety course on the 8th Flr and have grandstand view.
I concur with previous comments about the construction work, hoarding and construction traffic contributing to this accident and feel strongly that the developers of Nova Victoria should be held to account -

Hi, I've just been told three pieces of information about this collision by a work colleague, two of which I'll share. Apparently she was riding a Boris bike and the vehicle involved was working on the Crossrail development. RIP. I am absolutely sick of the same thing happening over and over again, and nothing being done about it.

RIP lady rider -
Echo the sentiments above - I make it 4 London cyclist fatalities so far in 2015. 100% involved HGVs. It is so unnecessary. Sort those trucks out!

Case adjourned 2/3 months re death of cyclist Brian Holt. Jury hearing of today's cycle death involving same HGV firm may have been issue -

Ross Lydall is now tweeting about her being on a Boris bike: https://twitter.com/RossLydall/status/568406289593839616

Does it matter what bike it was?
-
• #38
No, I'm just adding it as another source to corroborate my earlier statement

My post was aimed at Ross Lydall really, not you.

Well I guess from a journo's perspective it adds another 'newsworthy' angle.

Oh Jesus Christ. Exactly the same area a cyclist was killed the year before. I have been saying for a while that the whole of Victoria is a deathtrap for cyclists. So depressing

I haven't lived in London 13 years and didn't realise until I joined LFGSS how bad things had become, I honestly thought Boris had it sorted.
RIP Rider, condolences to her family and friends. -

I thought of you today actually @mikec (I know you were working in the area until recently). These tragic deaths seem somehow more real when they happen on the streets you cycle and/or work on. I agree, Victoria is a mess - for peds and cyclists alike.
Very upsetting news :( Love and thoughts with those who knew the victim.

BBC London did an OB from the junction just now and the layout looked horrific plus lorries cabs etc. turning left into that junction with zero indication.

Indeed, it's a very busy junction - 24/7.
Dreadful new!
Rest in peace.
My thoughts are with all who will miss you.
