  • 9/10, a fine effort.

Incorrect usage of 'whence' lets you down.

  • Massive rattling clatter, had me looking around to see what was stuck between tyre and mudguard, pull over to side, and realise rear wheel is flat and a big fucking nail has gone through tyre. Lucky I was close to Evans so could use their track pump and warm interior to swap out inner tubes.
Rest of ride was torture, headwinds, growling stomach, no energy, all the while knowing I'll be super late for work, rather than just a bit late...

    Would ride again..

  • Continually undertook and overtook by some red face Brompton day glo rider down the Walworth Rd although who never really made an impact on getting away from me,

Hit 26mph in a 20mph zone was good although the car that overtook me must have been doing double that.

Still loving the half term effect mind, 9/10

  • Hit 26mph in a 20mph zone was good although the car that overtook me must have been doing double that.

Block the driver next time, people get riled up when they can't break the law.

  • That's a fairly stupid thing to suggest.

By all means, ride in primary, but if someone's desperate to drive at 40 in a 30 or 20, blocking them is only going to get you hurt. You're not the Police.

  • Aye it is, police can't do much unfortunately, less traffic cop nowadays.

  • why would you want to?
Riding in traffic is as much about giving back the lane, as taking it.
If you don't need to take the lane, and hold primary, why would you?
    Feels super petty to me...

  • Feels super petty to me...

    Oh it is.

  • Its a wide enough road for both of us to break the law.

  • Technically, only one of you is breaking the law.

  • whoops! wasn't concentrating

  • then why do it?

If you're spending time paying back grievances/slights to drivers, how are you enjoying riding your bike?

  • then why do it?

    For the lols.

  • Went over the bonnet of a Merc this morning at Lordship Lane: Round Way roundabout. He entered the roundabout in front of me from my left at speed while I was taking care of what was coming from my right – said afterwards he was late for work and in a hurry and didn’t see me but that it was my fault for going too fast on a bicycle. Suspected cracked rib. Bit sore. I swore a lot but didn’t hit him. Front wheel f*cked.
Hey ho – it’s my choice to join the fray on a bike amongst the f*ckwits in cars.

  • I hope you got a full compliment of details and will be pursuing it, also glad you're not hurt worse.

  • As snotty says, please say you his details and a witness?

  • Yep - got the lot - and witnesses. A full set. Thanks all.

  • Roundabouts, traffic entering from the right has priority, he should be giving way to any and all traffic from the right.

Late to the party! Get CTC/LCC lawyers involved. Could take a while, currently almost a year into my claim, but persist and the payout will be worth it..

  • Good luck with it. There are too many fuckwit drivers round that neck of the woods, would be nice if one of them got done.

  • Thanks c_b

  • Yep m o n. Too right. I did a hoooge hand signal. Wearing a f*ck off helmet light for night time off road stuff on flashing mode. Made no difference. He didn't see a car so he careered straight on to the roundabout. And then braked - too late.

  • Take him to the cleaner, being late is a stupid excuse, hope you'll get well soon.

  • ouch, sounds a bit better than last injury though! Heal up soon!
