PX Stealth, Exocet.

Biased much? :-)
Giant Trinity Composite 1 looks good value, you get Ultegra for less than the 105 equipped Specialized Shiv Elite or Cervelo P2

My friend has access to a powder coating rig at University, I want to powder coat a frame, for a bit of fun. Do we just put masking tape over BB, Seat and Head Tube. Would professionals use some kind of bung?
I would also be interested in powder coating cranks, handlebars, seat post, and stem. Do we just mask off the threaded / in use areas?

Stealth is the classic budget TT bike, Exocet is a bit tidyer for not a lot more. P2 is probably the fastest non-superbike frameset, if it fits you.

Rather than a pannier, is there a small compressible bag I can strap to the top of the pannier rack just big enough for my commuting stuff: pants, socks, tool pouch and roll-up waterproof?
I'm thinking of something like this:-
But £30 seems steep.
It needs to be fairly robust as my commute is a bit "mixed terrain".

£11
To slow but same idea. Great minds or fools rarely differ...

Actual rack bags do seem to start around £30 (found this Altura one on sale for less), but if you're just looking for something that can pack down and keep your stuff dry, why not just get a dry bag from a camping shop? The roll-down clippy bit could be used to loop something through when strapping it to your rack, if you're worried about it escaping.
er, yeah what they said..

How small do they fold up? Jersey pocket?

that alpkit stuff looks amazing... want...
-

https://www.alpkit.com/products/airlok would pack smaller, the Xtra material is relatively thick, the standard airlok isn't really suitable for strapping to a rack though, would wear through in minutes.

Asking for replacement of a knackered musette .. might as well get something waterproof if I can .. its when I have to carry something to/from work which is very rare. I emailed Jon of mack workshop for a custom musette but it seems pricey for its purpose ..

I can check how small the 3 or 8L versions fold up later if no one else chimes in beforehand.
Or do what Ed said. Sea to Summit make some waterproof packable bags.

Wow! Thanks a lot. All suggestions helpful, but the Alpkit Ztra bags look just what I had in mind.
(The stuff I need it for is just too big for jersey pockets unfortunately)
Thanks for all the help.

This? http://www.seatosummit.com.au/products/modular-packing/travel-day-pack/
I like the idea of musette/something on the side rather than backpack (I already have T level etc) .. I use the musette also when I go on long ride with a mate to carry rice cakes till his place and then just fold it in jersey pocket after ..

When your next Rapha purchase? you can go in the shop and buy something, ask for a musette.
I use that musette for long distance touring, 9/10 would.

• #66520
Yeah exactly my thoughts; dont want to spend more than a tenner .. Last order didnt come with a musette :(

Depends what your after them for. I bought these from Amazon a couple of weeks ago, for the gym, and they're the best purchase i've made in ages. Really happy with them.
What is a good value, entry to mid level TT bike? (Wheels will be upgraded separately and stock wheels used for training). The secondhand market in my city is a bit sparse. (and I get that there's a few answers to this question!)
