I can check how small the 3 or 8L versions fold up later if no one else chimes in beforehand.
Or do what Ed said. Sea to Summit make some waterproof packable bags.

I like the idea of musette/something on the side rather than backpack (I already have T level etc) .. I use the musette also when I go on long ride with a mate to carry rice cakes till his place and then just fold it in jersey pocket after ..

Asking for replacement of a knackered musette .. might as well get something waterproof if I can .. its when I have to carry something to/from work which is very rare. I emailed Jon of mack workshop for a custom musette but it seems pricey for its purpose ..
