  • our two previous managers were Paul Jewell and Roy Keane

Our two previous managers were Paul Jewell and Nigel Clough...

and our 'star striker' had an abysmal goal scoring record before he joined.

Chris Martin hardly set the EPL alight with Norwich when we signed him on loan and then a free transfer and Darren Bent (although we all know he is amazing) didn't set the Fantasy Leagues alight with his goal scoring exploits over the last couple of seasons (thanks Lambert!)

How can we not be underdogs? The last time we were in the playoffs was 10 years ago!

Last season was the first time since our embarrassing relegation season that we've had anything to cheer for except stability and bringing Will Hughes through the academy.

We're a renaissance team, that's why the fans are so happy.

    Ditto.

Not like Boro and Derby with their ex-Champions League managers and top-4 PL loans.

Mick McCarthy has managed National teams and has enough experience of getting promoted from the Champ... Lingard is the only loan player from a top 4 PL team we have (if you can count Man U as top 4 since Ferguson left)

I have a lot of time for Bournemouth though, most of what they have achieved has been Howe's hard work. I hope it's us and them come May, you plebs can fight it out in the playoffs.

Eddie Howe is a grade A cunt with a very punchable face and they're bank rolled by a Russian Billionaire. Shame that they couldn't spend the money that was burning a hole in their pockets in January because Gray didn't want to join them...

    Is this how you banter?

    #schoolholidaysinnit

  • LOL IRL @ "Is this how you banter?"

This is better than marking Yr7 homework projects.

  • I'm glad we've made each others day. :)

  • @tommmmmmm

Was that ice cream van fire your doing? What has Mr Whippy done to upset you?

  • That was amazing, such drama.

The van actually melted, which was ironic, or apt, or something.

  • Not ironic. More like,fitting.

Also, good work @roboto. Facts not stats!

  • £10,000 is a fact, and I still think Nigel Clough > Roy Keane.

  • "Universally" is the new "literally", don't you know...

  • This is not going how I hoped

  • Get fucked.

  • So much fontage

  • Demoralised by Arsenal?

  • Nice one Brum

  • Fighting spirit salvaged a point with 10 men.

  • There is of course a wonderful irony in Liverpool supporters seeking to assert that everyone who follow Chelsea is racist and culpable for the actions of a few nasty little morons.

These are presumably the Liverpool supporters who thought it fine when thousands of Liverpool supporters chanted homophobic abuse at the recent league cup match. Homophobia, it seems, is acceptable to Liverpool supporters.

To try to assert that all Chelsea supporters are racist is a bizarre stretch of stereotyping. While in the 1980s there were racists among the Chelsea crowd as there were among the supporters of most other sides (Leicester is of course the notable exception).Chelsea worked then and has continued to work to eradicate the racist element. One thing I have noticed over the past day is that many people whose position might have been suspect on the issue some years ago, are as fervent in their denunciation of the vile idiots on the metro as anyone else. Football has helped to change social attitudes.

I appreciate that this is not what you want to hear.

It would be pleasant if Liverpool, the club of Robbie Fowler, took a stand against homophobia rather than condoning it.

  • I'm sure it was probably Millwall or Hammers fans trying to make
    Chelsea look bad

I think that you will find that that tactic is copyrighted by Liverpool

    #Heysel

  • One of the benefits of £1k+ season tickets is that at least you only get posh rascists at Stamford Bridge these days.

  • “I think the majority of Chelsea supporters are disgusted by what’s happened. The 2,000 who were in Paris today support a Jewish-owned football team where the majority of players are black and foreign.”

    1. Hinting at a Jewish conspiracy/Zionist domination/illuminati

    2. Not-so-subtly bemoaning the fact that players nowadays don't look English and it's not like the old days, UKIP mentality

  • En serio, at Ipswich games I still cringe at the "she's a whore" shouts directed at Delia. I think it betrays latent sexism which wouldn't be directed at a male club owner. Though I'm happy to sing about where she can shove her saucepans.

The song I heard about Justin Fashanu once was disgraceful as well, but luckily other fans shouted that down, much like when I heard the anti-Semitic song at Stamford Bridge.

Even the very best clubs have their absolute cunt fans.

  • cooey

  • One of the most offensive songs I have heard at a football match was:

    Jermaine Defoe
    Jermaine Defoe
    Your brother's dead
    Got shot in the head
    Jermaine Defoe"

Which shows you don't have to be racist, sexist or homophobic to be truly offensive.

  • French police release new image of the Chelsea racists, apparently they've got a bit of previous for such things.

  • ^ just came here to post that. Teh lolz.

  • What point are you trying to make Clive? Are you trying to minimise the actions of those Chelsea fans by pointing out these examples, or define Chelsea out of any responsibility by suggesting that they aren't fans, got tickets form touts?
Why not just condone the activities, say its a pity that this element exists at your club and in football and that you're glad it has been widely condemned by Chelsea and it's fans. Pointing your finger at other clubs about the actions of their fans makes you seem partisan about an issue that is not partisan. Everyone knows that the video reflects a problem in football which reflects a problem in society.
