I have to say that my Son / edelux is pretty poor I don't know why people rave about it so much.It lights up a small patch of road with not much light.
It is nothing compared to my old Lupine Wilma or my current Exposure 6 pack. On my other dynamo equipped bike I have a Supernova hub and an E3 triple, which is much more effective.
It is fine for road use (despite what some people will say) so long as you angle it down, so the really bright central spot is about 40 feet in front of you. The bracket allows you to easily pivot the light upwards a bit if you are in the woods, then it is a great off road light too.
