Help needed in Manchester

  • An order I placed at 'the velodrome shop' online has gotten lost in the post and so I'm frantically trying to get hold of a new 50t chainring by Saturday morning. Is there anywhere in Leeds or Manchester that'll sell Sugino Zen rings and will be open on Saturday? It's quite a drive for me (3hours), so getting time in the velodrome is difficult to say the least, don't really want to lose out. So far everywhere I've googled is online or in London - I don't have time to order online.

I can buy a Dura Ace ring at Evans at the NCC if all else fails I suppose, just I'd rather get a zen if at all possible.

  • Is it the velodrome shop that are notoriously shit? Hope you get something sorted.

  • I ordered a handlebar and a pair of gloves from them before Christmas. Same thing happened, but the item eventually turned up earlier this week.
Not Manc. or Leeds but Dolan's showroom is open 9am-1pm on Saturday if you fancy a drive to Ormskirk. Good luck!

  • Ormskirk it is then I suppose, I'll have to see if I can get there by 1pm, I'll have to set off about 9am! I'd not thought to ask if anyone had used the VDShop (as I'll now call them), probably should have done!

  • Anyone got anything secondhand? Trying to avoid buying new if possible as I've ordered a few and it doesn't make sense to spend another £80-90 on a spare. Ideally I'm after a Zen. Dolans are miles from me and with the opening hours I'm not sure it makes sense to go there. I'll have to set off at 9am - I'll be getting home from the VD around 1am so I'd rather not make it such a long day if possible.

That said I'm getting desperate so it's still my best option :-P

  • any one knows where I could buy 16t track cog of decent quality in manchester on sunday?

  • Evans?

  • Thats next door at the velo

  • There's 14,15,16 dura ace at Harry halls

  • I got that sorted out, still no parcel from velodrome shop 2 weeks later....

  • Wish I'd found the below thread before I ordered some Nitto drops before Christmas:

    Shared hatred for it.

    Bars arrived after three weeks.
I guess that if they carry limited stock and have to order from Japan etc... It's going to take a little while, but I just wish they'd state that this is their intention in the first place, through their freaking website. There might be a minor saving to be made with them due to not having to pay a personal Parcel Force handling fee, e.g., if you ordered through Track Supermarket or Alex's Cycle (who don't hide the fact they're based in Japan), but it's hardly worth the extra time and effort if you need the item quickly, especially when you're led to believe delivery is going to be within three days.
    Bunch of con-artists.
