why would you need an adjustable crank? If you were to spend all that money, you'd know what size you needed, unless you've got more money than sense.

Short cranks for long flat rides or crits and long cranks for hilly rides?

Thorn cycles has had them for yoinks.

Useful on tandems with growing but pedalling kids, among other things.
