I was going to buy one new as a training frame. I asked a freind who works at a De Rosa dealer. He said they were shit.

I saw one the other day at a race; it looked very nice! No idea how it rides ..
Although there are worthy competitors like canyon ultimate AL SL; CAAD10; Specialized Allez Smartweld; Bowman palace; kinesis aithein; Deda Alluminio etc. -

I have one in blue, with campag 10
Speed Veloce which I use as my daily commuter. The frame is a proper compact, the ride is very stiff but corners beautifully and feels
Solid at speed. It's an awesome bike which is still (I believe made in Italy). I love mine although I don't think if pay retail for it. Got my complete for £650 from eBay.If you can get a deal do it, you won't regret it. Not sure about the newer models but mine doesn't have eyelets on the frame or fork for mudguards - which is odd as it's often referred to as a 'winter trainer'

What did he say was shit about them? I've only ever seen one other on road.

How are they shit? @sacredhart
I like the Aithein but there has been a few paint issue with the Black one. Don't really fancy the other colours. I've not seen many De Rosa around too which makes it more attractive (to me) @amey
I'm getting a good deal through my LBS. Athena Carbon + Milanino + Zonda + DedaZero100 finishing kit. Total -20% isn't too bad. @Fahrgestell -

Im just repeating what a friend who works at a De Rosa dealers told me. They hadnt sold many, quality control was poor and overpriced for what it was.
I'm a massive De Rosa fan and had thought about one as a winter trainer to complete the stable. -

Absolutely love mine, I have to admit. Although would not pay retail!
