Pro Rays 4 Carbon Clincher 4 Spoke

Posted on
  • Hey Everyone

As above, I bought a Pro 4 Rays carbon clincher 4spoke front wheel with braking surface in November last year brand new.

After fitting it to my bike I wasnt 100% sure it suited the frame (cinelli Vigorelli) but continued with it for a couple of weeks.

I then managed to mount a curb at speed and cracked one of the spokes. After speaking to 53-12 in Colchester they recommended I send it to HQ Fibre Products in Norfolk as they are the only people locally who have repaired carbon frames, wheels, forks to an excellent standard.

The wheel has now been repaired runs absolutley true with no impact to the rim just with the repaired section on the lower part of one of the spokes which is to a very impressive standard with new carbon fibre being re-weaved into the original section.

The repair was £110 and the wheel cost £450 (RRP was £900).

Comes with Pro wheel bag and shimano ultegra skewer. Obviously repair to one side the rest of the wheel is absolutely perfect and probably has covered less than 100 miles.

  • £200.00

  • Would consider offers...

    Thanks

  • Only two hundred for near certain death? You're selling yourself short mate!

  • I'm glad someone else was on the same line of thought as me!

Should really be re-advertised as a Pro Rays 3......

The picture of the repair makes me cringe....

  • That isn't a picture of the repair!!

That's a picture of the damage... I'll post a repair pick in the day or so

  • So it's currently being repaired?

  • It says in the first post it's already repaired. He just showed the damage to be transparent I imagine.

  • It's been repaired I've just been away for a few days and will post tomorrow.

  • That's correct, thanks

  • Picture of repair below

  • I wish people would read before making stupid, silly, unnecessary insulting comments. What part of the picture before the repair do you guys not understand? So many people like this on these forums.

  • Hi Alex,

    Is your wheel still available?
    Where are you based?

  • Sorry @Yusuf987 I'm confused as to which comments in this thread are:

    Stupid
    Silly
    Unnecessary
    Insulting

It's generally de rigueur to post pictures of an item in its current, saleable, format.

  • Also de rigueur to read the caption of any picture posted, before commenting on said picture.

You misunderstood the photo, that's kinda your fault.

But let's not derail this thread. Looks like a top repair job (from a really reputable carbon fibre workshop) on a wheel that seems fairly priced - can't believe the bad luck you've had with it. glws!

  • It wasn't the photo I misunderstood, rather the pointlessness of not posting a picture of what the wheel actually looked like he was trying to sell, whilst also being sceptical as to exactly why or how anyone would try selling a crashed front carbon wheel for use as anything more than an ornament

  • I'm struggling with this forum...

Everyone seems to take everything very seriously.

I'm not sure what value the above comments have to this thread.

    thanks though...

  • Don't worry man some people are just Dicks lol.

  • Lol....
Just how long have you been a bad man?

  • Probably not as long as you've been a Dick lol.

  • Good comeback...

  • @Yusuf987 you support people sellin stolen goods so you can duck out
