In other news, my Far Sports rims arrived in Coventry last Thursday and the status has just been updated to 'Awaiting Customs Charging'. Last time, I got lucky as the rims were marked as 'samples'. Question is, does this mean I will actually get charged or are they just going to have a look at the goods?
If I remember correctly I also seen this status on my frame when I was waiting for it to arrive.
But I my frame arrived and had no taxes added on.
I think the 'Awaiting Customs Charging' status just means that the parcel is being checked if it should have any charges added on. If the box is marked as sample then you should be fine. -

Sadly my wheels were intercepted by the Gentlemen of the Excise and I got £48 relieved from me this week and they were marked sample. From DIY Bike on eBay
Apart from that all good and quick delivery -

I recently ordered a plain UD carbon stem. Shaped much like a 3T Integra. But in 100mm, which 3T dont even make. So any dreams of this being part of a 3T run are out.
Want to test the size (have another stem in mind ultimately), and this spiked my interest.
I'll report back With my thoughts.....providing it doesnt kill me in the face, With fire.

I'm pricing up a few things to see how much a potential project would cost...any idea where I could source a 32h ~90mm carbon rim?
(alternatively considering finding a lacing pattern which skips holes in a 32h hub)

Looks like I've suffered the same fate. Currently awaiting the letter through the door advising of how much I need to pay.

Is this for a geared rear Wheel?
I run a 32 Tune hub laced to a 24 hole 56mm rim on the road bike. Standard 16spoke 2x on the drive side, and 8spoke 1x on the non drive side. Means the spokes have Close to Equal tension despite the dish.

Ah ok, so that sort of wheel is feasible. It's for a grand bois 120mm cassette hub, just toying with a few ideas at the moment and looking at my bike parts box.
Dish shouldn't be too harsh, as it'll only be 6 speeds...or perhaps 7 if I can squeeze in another cog at 10 pitch or 11 speed pitch.

The Extreme dish of a 10/11 speed Wheel. Is what makes the tension even on each side. Despite one dside having twice the spokes. Should still work though. I'll post a link to a handy tension calculator after lunch.

Anyone wants to sell me a carbon tubular track rim with 24h in it? 50mm deep would be ideal

Would these be any different to wheels ordered from Yoleo or FarSports in your opinion?

i had a vcls seatpost arrive today. looks great and fits perfectly

What's the maximum insert roughly? I ordered and then remembered about the 6 inches thing mentioned earlier in the thread and I'm worried it might be a little too high

And you'll have to let me know how the dampening works. Interested to see how effective it is.

Same parts but they will be laced better, however you are paying £200 for the service.
If you are worried about the build quality of the mentioned sellers you could buy rims, and novatec hubs and then take then to any number of places and they will do the same for about £50/60 plus cost of spokes.
Spokesmanwheels.com are suppossed to be decent, but poss not that decent.

Which one did you go for? I'm still considering one but there are a few competing traders. Would be good to know who might be more reliable out of those on offer

Alright, no need to make us all envious.

the cheapest one. they are probably all made in the same factory at the same time
Yeah I agree with what your saying here completely. There are literally hundreds of Chinese companies on Alibaba etc. No doubt there are some that should be avoided like the ones who do actually put on logos and try pass them off as the genuine article.
Its the reputable Chinese companies like dengue, hongfu, farsport etc that I think produce goods on a par with the big name brands.
