Arundel Gecko - lovely feel, nice cushioning, but crucially lasts a LONG time without visible wear.

Nice!
£11 at Hargroves - think I'll give it a try -

Cinelli Mash Shield Volee on shallow drops - I love this stuff and a subtle fade to them.
BLB chewy track grips on deep drops - nothing special there, but cost effective. -

I have this on my track bike, soft, grippy and snazzy (the texture is very very subtle)

Deda Mistral at the moment. Nice and grippy, comfy and easy to wrap. Only problem is that when you take it off the grippy bit properly sticks to the bars and rips the tape to shreds and leaves gunk on the bars.

The adverts for this are so cringe worthy.

Ah, hadn't considered grips.
Are you swapping bars between events then? Deep for sprinting, shallow for bunch races? -

Not racing yet, only been at the track since Sept and riding my own bike at training for the last 6 weeks so still getting a feel for the positions, but yeah, I can see myself swapping between events.

Yeah, I'm at a similar point in my track riding.
I currently have Nitto bars (B125?) on my bike which are fairly deep drop. I might just try out some shallower bars for comparison - I'm pretty sure I have some knocking around that would work on the track.
So, the BLB grips are ok ? Grippy ? -

Oooh nice. Have you tried the Fizik tacky tape ? Do you know how it compares ?

I usually steer clear from Fizik (don't like their microtex at all) so no, I haven't try it I'm afraid...

my choice of bar wrap can differ
on early '80's i tend to use Benotto, which you need to use double sided tape as the ribbon can slip out of line, later models have foam type, either cinelli or , on one, Colnago as it's a team bike, i also use lizard skinz on a couple, but i find the black surface finish can wear quite soon at the most used contact points -

A little on the firm side and the patterning is quite harsh, but fine with mits on and grip is good. They'll last ages.
Any faves amongst youse for grip and comfort? Bonus points for snazziness.
IMHO Cinelli Gel Cork is king for road bikes. But I would imagine that plush cushioning is less appropriate for the track...
I'm using Fizik (Performance?) tape currently on my track bars. It's fine but scruffy so gonna update.
I'm eyeing up Fizik's tacky tape - but wondering if that's a dirt magnet - I will prob go for white, or something garish
