@xavierdisley, can you tell us what your magic formulas would predict for a very mediocre cyclist?

For example: ftp=290w, poor cda of 0.27... In other words, me. Obviously a myriad of factors, but what sort of ballpark would an averageish person be able to do?

Doing a 25m TT gives you some idea. Maybe.

I wouldn't describe that CdA as "average", but with those numbers you could probably do 42km. Bear in mind though that FTP =/= hour record power, you need to take at least 10w off as it's grim!
