+1 for tiny head tube and spacer stack under your risers. 120mm HT with parallel TT should be fine, nice long seat post.

Perkins is gigantically under the radar. I know the area he's based in pretty well and basically the only clue to him existing is a mention on ceeway.

Anyhow this looks like an exciting project. Looking forward to seeing progress!

@mdcc_tester this headtube?
If so....... Such puke.

@coldharbour
Plz do an aero pointy headtube like on Ted's Mercian.
Tried to find a photo but cant.
It would l̶o̶o̶k̶ ̶r̶a̶d̶ be really scientific and aero

RE: brakes, apologies have been getting confused between show bikes, this one will be having the omegas, my other bike is getting the EE cycleworks.
-
• #34
It looks much less wank on frame sizes <58cm, with a slammed stem.

• #35
Hmmmm. Still tail off in to a fin?

this headtube?
Well, I was thinking more like this one:

The head tube is right out there in the breeze, and a circular cross section is really bad for your aeros. Almost anything you do to the leading edge is likely to be an improvement.

Do you even internet?

• #39
Is that a fillet between the seatstays?

Aero HT as used by Leader (linked rather than embedded for obvious reasons)
-
• #41
Well, that leader was awful.
I think I can do something with the headtube, and have some funny BMX headtubes in a box somewhere that should be a nice size.
Mercian looks quite confused.
Who matches their brake cable colour to their frame, I mean really? ;-)

Seat post is going to be Seat mast, probably with no adjustment, maybe with a cap. Really depends on how uniform the ID on the tubing is going to be, I haven't seen it yet. Hypothetically I will have a tube that can slot over the seattube, but all bets are off until it turns up.
I'll be using the Tula butt plugs for the bars, which will be made from T45 aerofoil most probably.

Who matches their brake block colour to their frame
@umop3pisdn, that's who.

Re the headtube, when you say custom forks you mean your making them? In which case what about using a 1" fork or 1" - 1 1/8 " tapered fork? Surely that would cut down the front area, then you could try and stick something on the front - a bit like those funny looking Specializeds (?) that got band.

Baby blue turbo also.

Another very cool Talbot project.
Good luck, I'm looking forward to seeing it progress

Have a friendly little bmx headtube that can be the basis for aero headtubez.

....and have fiddled with BCAD to show new headtube, just moved the pads rather than the whole bars as a, still getting to grips with aerobars on BCAD, and have actual work to do.

Subbed. Needs Omega SVs. For another frame builder who's made some incredible steel TT bikes check out Midlands based James Perkins. He's very much under the radar, but he's done 18s on his bike. I've seen two aero steel fixed TT frame's he's made and I've come very close to ordering from him.
