  • @Heldring : Indeed, Sheldon's chart is much more conservative than the one I have inserted above, as a general rule, he mentioned that "A general guideline is that the tire width should be between 1.45/2.0 x the inner rim width": http://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html (see "Width considerations" near the end of the page)

    @Dtroll : Kojaks are great, I used them in slippy situations this weekend and they were quite grippy (but terrible in the mud no surprise)

    @nott_mike : Blue Pomps rule! Hmmm, I dream to travel by bike to the north of the UK, variety is the key?! Even wet, I absolutely loved Belgian Flanders this weekend =)

  • I guess that works. 35mm kojaks in a xc717 rim is just over the sheldon brown x2 limit. Pumped t up to max though!
