I'd avoid the small iMacs. You can't replace the ram and they have normal hdds. I think they are a bit crap to be honest. Grab a small MBP and a second hand display and you have best of both worlds. Pcie flash drives as per the Mbps are amazing and I doubt you'll feel any difference in power (can't remember specs ATM) between processors but the Mbps SSD will make it fly. Grab one at an airport for 1k?

I read everything I could about this, and then did what everyone said I shouldn't - I upgraded everything - Firefox, ITunes, OS - if it said "do you want to upgrade?" I said YES.
Suprisingly it now all fits together really well and all probs have disappeared. Seriously. However, I was quite drunk when I did it, and am prepared to accept that I was very lucky. I'm in no position to recommend this as a thought-out suggestion.
New mac time for me. Been bouncing back and forth between iMac and MBP and I think I've landed on a new 21.5" iMac.
Before I place the order though just wanted to have one last trawl around for a recent s/h model I could upgrade to 16GB and SSD storage. Where's good for quality reconditioned s/h macs?
