Colnago star fork 1" uncut steerer if possible

Posted on
  • Hi all, i thought i would try again for these forks!

Am building up a lovely C40 bought from here a while back, bike is awesome and Morten is a gent who sold me the bike with a great carbon fork that works well with the frame.

After the Star forks to get it looking and feeling more original.

    Many thanks,
    Gareth

  • Bike is almost built, will be using a non original fork for now.

anything out there? Happy to consider a Flash, Force or Street fork.

  • Hi all found a few 1 1/8th on ebat at the moment if anybody needs those. In the meantime my search continues....

  • I have a flash fork , not sure i want to part with it at the mo
if i decide to i will let you know

  • Hi MRI, thank you for the post, let me know when you as ready to part.

  • Almost got sorted on a set but steerer was too short, anybody with a carbon colnago fork with 26 cm or thereabouts steerer let me know.

Anybody looking for one with a 21cm steerer WimVDD has some and is very helpful.

    Have a great weekend,
    G.

  • Where are those forks?

    Cheers

  • Still looking guys, i reckon i can get away with steerers cut to 26cm, again happy to consider any Colnago carbon fork to bring it closer to original.

  • If you don't totally need carbon, BLB had some 260mm threadless Precisa forks in black with orange top last time I was in there.

  • Thanks 606 will get a look at those. I did see a few C40's with prescia forks on here.

  • 1st generation c40 came with steel fork
26cm quite long how big is your frame ?

  • HI MRI, it is equivalent to a 58cm frame, the length of steerer is also due to being an ex rower and not having the lower back support i used to!

I think my C40 is second generation, it did have a star fork but the previous owner noticed it had a crack in the steerer, removed it to inspect and it fell apart, damn lucky he was not riding it at the time!

  • Ok no worries understand the need for longer steerer
You might have more luck searching for a Time fork also used on many colnago bikes of the period
Keep looking one will turn up 😊

  • Hi MRI, the time forks look great too, i have a set of plain carbon forks on there that the minute, it looks great and handles really well. really i am just trying to get it back to original.

they will turn up, might take a few months but hopefully less!

  • Got a hit on eBay for a force fork, would much prefer to give my money to a forum member though, anything out there?

  • Lost out on the bay. Anything out there, still looking.
