Today was exciting. First because I ordered the remaining bits of finishing kit for delivery in the coming week so by next weekend the bike should be assembled and ready to ride! I should also thank @BareNecessities for the stem he sent me, though haven't taken a pic of that yet.
Second, because I went to pick up my new hoops for it after @Borek built them today. He has done a bloody fine job too - really even tension and straight as a frickin' arrow. As I mentioned before, the hubs are pretty damn impressive. I'll hold off on the final judgement until I've had a chance to ride them around for a bit, but they spin as freely as any dura ace/other high end hubs I've had my grubby mits on. Also got my 19t EAI cog in the post so I slapped that on too with the lockring to follow. So the final build is:
Black H+Son Archetype rims, 36H
S.E. Slayer hubs, black, 36H front and rear, double fixed on the rear
Sapim silver race spokes
Gatorskin 28c on the back
GP4000 25c on the front (got it for free from a mate and promptly bought him a beer!)
I've popped some photos in so people can have a look. Gone with bigger tyres to help soak up the crappy roads in SW England, and for a little bit of longevity as well. Was going to have a hardshell in the back (ooh err), but the shop only had a regular gator in either 25c or 28c, so went for this one. Both fit the Vigorelli without any trouble at all.
