• Well I've hoarded this for a long while and never got around to building it so I think it's time to pass it on.
    58cm TT ctc
    59cm ST ctc

There's an email from Somec saying it likely dates from '75-80 and is made from Columbus SP.
The frame is rather fine, with long elegant lugs, classic Somec tulip cutouts everywhere and some gorgeous little details.
It has a campag headset and BB fitted.
It's straight with no dings but the coloured part of the cromovelato paint has flaked away a bit, particularly along the TT.
    Campag dropouts.

£350. Collect from Grantham or London. Don't fancy posting.

  • Wow!

Portacatena rear dropouts and the cable routing puts it into the 1980's.

Chromovelato has to be seen to believed. :D

    Glwts

  • Thanks for the info. Yeah I always thought it looked a little later, just going on what the factory said but having said that they lost all their records...

  • Oh jesus thats reeeeeally nice!! My size too...

  • Very nice,

SOMEC always make good looking frames. One day I shall own one that is if i ever find one in my size.

I hope this goes to an appreciative new owner.

  • Friday price drop bump. £325 for this magnificent frame.

  • Such a lush frame.

  • Beautiful italian style

  • Thanks for the love. £300 anyone, else I'll try ebay.

  • Its a shame the blue paint is flaking like that. If it wasn't flaking I'd have been tempted.
But even at £300 its still a little too much for me. Still a very nice frame glws

  • Nice one, but not for collectors or wall hanger. Still it is a beautiful ride even with flaking paint. Just finished my Basso 1986 all in Mavic SSC, except circa correct Mavic 640 SSC pedals. Looking forward for next project in my size 58 to 60. This one falls with the category. Can pay cash on collection. Will consider if price offer conditions change here or on ebay. Cheers!

  • i question this, I have a 70's frame with portacatena and brazed tt cable guide

  • Do you have the original seat post, quill or other parts of this frame? They are difficult to get hold of and pricy. Could be more easy to reach price consensus for a package.

  • Do you mean pantographed parts? Because the sizings are not unusual. I do have a quill stem and post that came with the frame, but they didn't seem anything out of the ordinary. I'll dig 'em out on the weekend and post pics.

  • Please, do that. I am buying one not to sit in my closet. The ride have to serve the purpose and also bring visual happyness to public. I shall finish my next project till May for this summer ride. Just dig out those period correct components and lets close the deal.

  • I'm delighted for you.
    I'll be in touch...

  • Is this getting sold? Tempted a bit more with each passing day. And it's an excuse to visit London.

  • There've been quite a few sniffers via PM but nobody's produced the dosh, so its still available!

  • ok, lets go Dibs as it is!
Olly, PM me, please, to sort out pick up.

  • Sorry to all, Olly and I sorted out the details of the purchase yesterday or the day before. I should've made it clear in the thread, my apologies!

  • ^Ate, sorry all, dvorkbod and I have done t'deal.
