Look at the vid embedded in the Cycling Tips story I've linked to. It suggests it's stronger than regular crabon when you put it under a monster truck wheel (standard engineering test).

I'm sure the honeycomb structure itself is mega strong, I think it was how it was connected to the rest of the frame was where they fell apart. Bear in mind this is only something I read on the Bikerumor comment section or something similar so could be completely fabricated.
