  • Thanks ! :)

  • Tidy

@Dakin very true it just looked a lot better raw with simple decals in the tweet photo. Got me excite then that

  • Emailed Dolan about the new track champ and apparently they wont be selling the frame only anytime soon.

  • tc1 paint scheme looks like the one used for the setas

  • I like the grey/black scheme. Agree the other two look a bit roadie though.

  • grey/black reminds me of my fave mash scheme, the 2011

  • They sell frameset and it look like it's just the same old bike with new name.

  • Yeah I just want the frame though. Was just gonna swap the headset over from my pre cursa and I've got loads of sets of forks.

  • red pre-cursa looks good!

black dolans have never looked good to me & red is faster obvs

  • Really keen to get a Dolan bike. I like their style and they seem to be very good for the money.

I start my Lee Velopark accreditation soon and i want to get a track bike that will double a casual road bike. I'll just change the forks and wheels over for track / road days. I really like the Track Champ in white but my concern is its stiffness on the road. Anyone have experience in the TC as a roadie?

Not sure if i like the TC1, although it comes with the Mavic Wheelset I'm looking for. I'll see it in the flesh at the bike show on Sunday.

My current beater is a great condition Fuji Track Classic. But i want something lighter and more nimble for fast rides. I'll keep the Fuji for a commute / trainer bike...she's been good to me.

    Other options I've considered;

    • Cinelli Mash Parallax
    • Condor Lavoro
    • Fuji Track Pro
    • Dolan Pre Cursa

    Any feedback appreciated. Cheers

  • A pre cursa is perfect for a double up on the road. Relaxed geo makes them great for doing decent miles on.

  • I had a track champ and rode in on the road.

It's pretty stiff I would definitely say the pre cursa would be a better bet.

  • Any of those can be ridden on the road, so I would advised going with the Dolan and spec for a road fork instead (handle more like a road bike) they're not light but great all round bike for the money.

  • I just really like the TC frame looks. This to me is an awesome looking thing! I'll put a road fork on for sure, to give the right geo...

  • This was pretty much the reason I got the TC it is a great looking frame.

It will do you fine as a road bike with the road fork, just if you want a bit more comfort go pre cursa I guess

Here's mine back in the day w/ road fork

  • I have done plenty plenty miles on a pre cursa and love it. - track and road.

Every so often I'll do a month of intense road training on it with rodies at it keeps up just fine, infact more than fine, it's honestly one of the most fun bikes I have, despite lusting after many other bikes ( as we all do ) I just can't justify upgrading.. never ridden a TC so can't comment but I have a precursa frame, 3t drilled fork, v sprint wheels and omniums, works for me.

  • Not a fan of the tc1 on paper and don't really get the geo.

Slack HT angle and a 57cm ett on the 60cm version

  • Have to agree here. Had my PC since just before Xmas and have enjoyed riding it just about everywhere, hilly Bristol, picturesque Cheddar and bat shit kray London. It's a lot of biek for the beans. Will earn you zero street cred doe.

  • Meh, having a bike that costs peanuts but can boss it next to bikes costing 5 times as much is enough cred for me..

  • Well precisely, it was a somewhat facetious remark.

  • Ha! sorry far too witty for me first thing on the weekend :-)

  • Fuji track classic is nearly 11kgs according to Evans? Lighter isn't much of a benchmark :)

  • ...according to Evans?

    :-]

  • Top of the utfs... Genuinely no idea if that's accurate.
