  • Hello people of the internet,

I was wondering whether any steel frame experts out there could help me verify whether or not the frame in this advert is indeed a real Concorde or just a steel frame with Concorde stickers on it. I'm aware that there are plenty of counterfeit frames floating around. I used to own a beautiful but fake Pinarello frame that was very convincing indeed.
I noticed there are no Columbus stickers on the down tube of this frame or on the forks to indicate what the steel is made of and thought someone may be able to help me in identifying whether this is the real deal or not.

Thank you very much in advance.

  • Dat saddle.

  • It has the right bits of pantograph logos on the fork and head tube and the Italian flag on the top tube. That and the paint job would be more bother to fake than the frame is worth, if you see what I mean. But I am no expert - I bought what at first looked like a concorde back in the last century, and it turned out to be a pogliaghi.

  • Without having the bike and a relevant catalogue in front of you, you can only go by the photo's and as Ludd has said, it has all the right panto'd bits in all the right places.

Looks to be early 90's from the through frame brake cable, and the paint job looks very Concorde.

What is missing is a Columbus sticker, they are usually somewhere on the seat tube, but it does have the Italian flag braze on and a number hanger, so it should be SLX or similar tubing.

Are people really faking Concorde's? Wow!

  • Yeah it's strange but I've seen a few. Theres a Concorde 'replica' on Ebay right now with a pretty convincing paint job so people are clearly finding the time....

    Thanks for your help.
