Enjoyed this last time. Should be even better in nice weather.

In the Summer, minus the wind, plus a few more hours of sunshine and this ride should be a dream.

Thinking about a recce on Monday around the coast near Cliff Pools.
Want to see if it is possible to get through that way easily. -
• #22
About 100KM off-road, train back.

It's really fucking bumpy out that way. I've ridden to Cliff Fort before and it's a workout, it gets boggy out there when it's been raining and there are lots of wild horses so the ground gets churned up.

Thanks, figured as much..
The current Grain route is pretty good, particularly after refining the bit just before and after the bridge.
Will ride that section tomorrow anyway because I really want to check out that sinking fort and torpedo tube.

Route set now to include a look at the two forts and torpedo rail.

107 KM ride out to the Hoo Peninsula
Mainly flat and stress/traffic-free (Greenway, River, Canal and quiet roads).
Road slicks not advised, sections of gravel and God-knows what along route.
Make sure your bike and brain are cool with that.
Quick-social, waiting at non-obvious corners, t-shirts and denim type of ride.
Train home after eats/refreshments.
Meet top of Broadway Market 9:00, leaving sharpish
