I suspect without a full plate their response would be an even bigger Gallic shrug than usual.
CCTV request seems like an option

Yesterday I installed a new headset and fork on a frame. All the bits should match but there's a gap between the fork crown and HT, anyone know why?

Crown race seated right down? My subrosa / charge scissor combo had a similar gap, lbs said it's quite common and just make sure it's well greased #couldbechattingshit

Crown race is the right way up and it's seated properly, just can't see why parts meant to work together don't :/

2-3 yo CK nothreadset 1": feels...not right when I wiggle the handlebars a little. Perfectly smooth in a slow sweep, no lateral play, but little, jerky, side-to-side movements feel like there is a vibration.
I've spent all morning adjusting the load, cleaned the bearings (Old grease had some brown in it though) tried installing with and without the rubber seal incase that was the issue. checked the wheel, checked the stem, bars, forks and steerer for cracks...
What have I missed? -

Because if there wasn't a gap you wouldn't be able to steer. After that, we're just talking aesthetics and tolerances. There's a fair bit of variation in the depth of the bearing seats on integrated head tubes, headsets are made to work with the worst example of a too-deep bearing seat cut.

You need a deep set, or some low profile training wheels?
-
• #66297
in an ideal something deep, but i cant really justify spending much more than £150, so training wheels that i'd like to have long term when i might be able to afford something deeper...
