It looks like stripped purposely on the first version as well, there is no kind of justified usage that will reduce a "recent" bike like a Brooklyn in these conditions.
Unless it was painted with edible paint :)
Locking and unlocking the bike dozens of time a day may lead to that look.
Especialy if the paint quality is poor, and a non-protected chain lock is used.
