He's my friend. Still waiting on the Warhammer thing. If he doesn't know hoe to play I can teach him.

Tired as a dog this morning, tried to tough it out at first which wasn't nice but once I'd conceded it'd be a slow roll it all got a lot easier. Also ran into a friend (not literally) that I hadn't seen in ages, which was nice... fish/water

Took the bus in this morning, since I left my bike at work yesterday, passing on a second chance to get my ass wet.
Busengering is boring as hell.
Brought my mudguards with me, will ride home. -

Broke a drive-side spoke. Saw it as a sign to stop and sit down for a coffee and a cake at Climpson & Sons. Slow ride back home and then slow ride back in on another bike and then another coffee and cake from Strutton Ground. something/10

Wanking from home. Hospital ride uneventful. Would do again, but don't have to. Much yay. Very wow.

Wanking from home.
I admire your hands-on approach to your work.

Usually, yeah. Weekends and pubic holidays being the obvious exceptions.

I used to live in the flat above him. Always held the door open, said hello and good morning. Lovely family as well.
10/10 would let him lollipop me again.

Spring is here already. T-shirt weather for the cycle home. Hence the t-shirt.

Really need to change something about my brakes setup, snapped a 3rd front brake cable. Going to ride one of the other bikes for a couple of days and then swap the forks/brakes/bars.
-
• #4942
Check if both end of the cable housing is smooth?
-
• #4943
@edscoble I think it's to do with the tt levers exerting a shit load of force on the cable, it's been the same type of snap each time in that the barrel has come clean off the brake cable, the first couple I put down to cheap cables(ebay jagwire sets) the last one was from another place so I just think it's the setup of the levers being "too efficient". Cable goes down from the lever nearest the wall internal routing till on the underside of the bar it pops out.
I planned to swap to risers soon anyway so just ordered those and new levers and stuff.

Same side each time? Bent barrel cradle? (Or whatever those things are called)
On train... Apparently Waterloo is fucked... Going to be even later to polo than expected :-(
Can't even ride because road gear "isn't working" (it's complicated)

Too Much Awesome Power™. :(

At least it didn't take a chunk out of my leg a la my old Campag cranks. SRAM is clearly the way forward.
-
• #4948
@Khornight2 it's all as supposed to be just too much force on the cable is all I can think, here is how it snapped. The scratches seem to have taken lots of camera flash to make them look worse but that's just from them rubbing against stuff when bike is resting against walls and things.
-
• #4949
I might be wrong but it looks like the break has oxidised, so it may have been slightly cracked for a while? Where it's discoloured?
-
• #4950
Hmm, it just seems unlikely to be just force, in polo I have crashes that result in me putting some multiple of my 17 stone through my brakes without the cable snapping (by landing on the lever!)...
Much more likely to be faulty cables, rough edges or a bend that's too sharp in the outer catching?
Can't really see from the picture, but probably wouldn't be able to tell anyway... Try rubbing you fingers against every edge near the cable.
"Said hi to the Loughborough Rd. lollipop man again when he waved."
He's a cheery chap, I've also started to nod hello to him :)
