I'd recommend the Absolute Black single chainring. I've been riding mine for the past couple of weeks and, despite some very sticky conditions, it hasn't missed a beat.
It's quite a revelation to see how much mud build-up is caused by the front mech, i.e. once you remove it the drivetrain stays completely clear around the cranks and BB.
