OK good. He chucked in some bi-wire, and a "fancy" cable to connect amp to cd player, soz @BRM the freebie you gave me caused some alarm on his face! However, he could only find 7 banana plugs so last night I wired them up with the normal cable I had already bought, and 4 of the banana plugs, and used the jumper in the speakers.
I'll set them up properly tonight, but initial thoughts are that any music is a total joy to listen to.
