If you want to have a selection of photos easily on hand and instantly viewable by other people using instagram easily then its really good especially if they have a theme. I just post loads of bikes and that's pretty popular on Instagram so they get seen by a fair few people.
If you're just looking to host thousands of high res images mostly for yourself or to share with people on desktops then Flickr is really good. You have more control over who sees your pictures than with Instagram as you can make albums only visible to certain users or just share links to albums as you please.

I've realised I've got quite a few photos knocking about on memory cards and am exploring storage options. I'd be happy to share quite a lot and just have a repository. I don't really use facebook.
Would it be bouncing instagram and burn dvds for storage? Or is there some kind of online service that looks good for larger size pictures?
