You're covered under SOGA and the 2 year rule.
Send them a letter demanding a refund / replacement. Inform the of your rights under the EU rule & SOGA.
If they don't play ball, you may have to make a claim in the county court (which may be a ball ache if you're leaving the country). You should write a complaint to the OFT & Trading Standards in any case.
If you bought it on credit - charge back on your credit card. They are held equally liable as the retailer.
My dearly beloved's Moto G has bricked itself, she didn't drop it or anything it just died... Bought in December 2013 from Tesco Direct, what are my rights? Does the EU 2 year warranty apply? Been on the phone to Tesco twice and they've very politely told me to get on my bike... TIA, J x
