It's a demonstration of the strength of the wall. The wall being of the same stuff they make nuclear reactor buildings out of.

Cheers - and wow. Surely some sort of analogue would have worked! (maybe it's not a real jet...).

After they've flown a certain number of hours they are practically scrap, so why not fire along a railway at some concrete
