Just read this article on some new security features that Kryptonite has come up with. I was particularly impressed by the (unfortunately named?) "wheelnutz":
Kryptonite also showed a deceptively simple wheel security system, called Wheelnutz, which replaces conventional axle locknuts (it’s not compatible with quick-release systems). The nut features a toothed interchange to the washer. Tighten down as normal, and a simple gravity pin slides into place. The only way to release the pin and loosen the wheel is to flip the bike upside down. But a thief can’t, because the bike is also locked to a rack or post.
