Just found out now- Akis has been a client, friend and fellow rider for a few years now. I am absolutely heart broken. I was very lucky to know him and work with him on his cycling position and on his increasingly large collection of bikes.
He was a lovely gentle guy, generous with his time and attention. I asked him a few months ago if I could use his pictures from my "house of inflexible riders" gallery because his change in position is one of the most amazing I had ever seen- he just loved his riding- really fell for all aspects of it and worked damn hard to become a better rider- losing weight, training like a maniac and racing as much as he could.
I sent him a text yesterday to ask him for a his contact at Mosquito, not knowing. If anyone knows the mechanic there, please let them know, too. I know they will be gutted too.
I will miss Akis so badly, I feel lucky to have known him and to have worked with him. I hope his family can/do see this forum, I'd like them to know how loved he was here in London.
