Maybe it's just me with my pun-track mind, but presumably her pseudonym is a pun on 'such a misery'.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if she piggybacked unleashing other, previously repressed traumata on the effects of her physical trauma. Physical trauma is 'acceptable', psychological trauma is a lot more difficult ...
