  • I'm reading the guardian (I'm not form the uk) daily and I like the idea behind this project. I was very happy for you guys, especialy reading yesterday the accident with Mr. Akis.
I wish you that this works out!

  • Link no work.

Getting errors from lfgss. File not found. On phone if that makes any diff.

Totally against drive throughs, there's one near me and it's a nightmare to walk across as a ped let alone cycle past.

I tend to ride in the fast lane of a dual carriage way rather than get run over by some fat twat trying to wipe the burger sauce off his face while pulling out.

  • So what? Did they vote or does that come later?

  • apparently it was a yes!

  • They've just approved the East-West superhighway.

Which is a huge step forward in making cycling more accessible in London.

  • "I would buy a bike if they had this", says my mate on fb...

  • Twitter saying yes. Woo!

  • The link is from an email. It's just a collection of email addresses to write to and the message body.

  • According to Mayor Watch on the Twitter Peter Hendy told the board there had been a collision between a National Express coach and a cyclist while they were speaking.

“The biggest danger to cyclists in London is in fact themselves,” were the exact words, according to a Buzzfeed journalist.

This is great news. As someone who works in Canary Wharf I am massively pissed off about their position on it. They would rather avoid a few bankers being late to meetings than stop cyclists being killed on our roads. I'm not meant to have political views for work reasons but I was that close to publicly attacking CW on that one.

  • Sir John Armitt also says he has concerns about the scheme, claims biggest danger to London's cyclists "is themselves".

    wac

  • At Marble Arch it seems.

Sir John Armitt is a callous, heartless excuse for a human being.

  • It seems so. The LTDA are a bunch of cunts too. Very happy to see them on the losing side here. I am feeling very conflicted about Boris Johnson right now though, I may have to change my views on him at this rate.

I hope it doesn't sound too hyperbolic to say that I think history will judge all of these people who oppose progress.

  • Yup, Boris was exactly the articulate and knowledgeable advocate these tracks needed, classic top grade politician. However Boris' and my own politics vary drastically once we are away from cycle tracks...

  • Boris is a knobber, but I liked his theatrical sigh as Peter Anderson of Canary Wharf slagged off the cycle superhighway.

  • I work for a cycle campaigning org and every time I tell people I've just met what I do, if they don't cycle already, they say this.

    Really delighted by this news.

  • I think this is really good news. Hopefully it'll encourage more people out onto bikes.

  • Never mind dead cyclists, what about house prices!

London’s love affair with the bicycle is boosted by news that two new cycling superhighways have been approved, running east-west and north-south across the capital.

  • I'll go back to using good ol' Addison Lee instead of the black cabs.

  • Yes, same here. I can't deny though that not only is he talking the talk here he's walking the walk, in the face of real opposition. It's, erm, confusing!

  • Fuck, it was a ploy all along! Bastard is going to get his own personal cycle superhighway.

  • That make so much sense.

Ironically enough the new Superficial Way will likely to have less motorised traffic due to the higher intake of cycling, thus that boss have an improved commute.

  • “The loonies out there in the cycling world, they’re almost the sort of Isis of London. Their views and their politics – if you are not with them, and we are with the majority of it, then nothing is too bad for you. These people are unreal."

  • These people, the zealots of the cycling world, are unbelievable. We have had cyber attacks on our websites. They are all over us like a cheap suit on Twitter and social media. We have had physical threats of violence. You name it, we have had it. It’s absolutely unreal.

Why do all this sound familiar?

We have not reported anything to the police because I don’t think there is anything in them.

    For obvious reason.
