ok so something which is really pissing me off:
Can I / Shall I chop a threaded steerer??
also, im running Sugino 75 BB and the driveside cup keeps working lose after like 10 miles even though im tightening it like a strongman!! had two other BB's in the frame and both seemed to fit nice and tight, the 75 feels so loose on thread in - cup knackered?

-
• #99389
yeah i had a bloody centaur i was running with the Campag cranks, and another i sold after getting this!! how about my trusty old UN55 - will that be good with 75's?!

@Dick using a JIS BB with 4-6mm less spindle length should give a similar chainline.
Kinoko have 103mm Sugino CBB (Messenger) BBs for less than £20 right now.
I have one just removed from my beater (D/S bearing coming loose from spindle after two years) if you want to fit/try before you buy?
Used the same BB to fit those jumble sale Miche Primato cranks to girlfriend's jumble sale Bianchi... Meant for use with a 107mm ISO BB but chainline still perfect on 103mm JIS, running Ellipses. -

I wouldn't recommend too much ISO to JIS alternation though, to avoid cross contamination.

...you'll likely end up with STIs.
I like the photos like this, but it kinda also just screams out that you miss chain, cog, tyres and bar tape.
