  • A decent cheap place to eat in Ealing? (Santa Maria is closed for a refurb).

    One omnivore, one pescatarian.

  • Ealing, central Ealing, (Broadway),
    or
    will West Ealing be OK?

    Persian Palace,
Very large standard portions of meat,
my son first thought he was grown up when he managed the lamb& chicken plate.

    Me, (non-meat eater),
they do an individual plate/meze of various slops,
including a 'special Persian onion ' based one.
The ayran/drinking yoghurt is home made and almost as good as
Turkish 'yayik ayran' (= almost wild ayran),
just on the edge of fermenting.

Further down, past the traffic lights,
    Lahore Karahi,
    no ambiance,
but (I am told) tasty lamb & chicken to your chosen level of spice/chilli.
The dals and the aubergine dish are well cooked and tasty.

Will make the ayran without milk, just yoghurt & water.

  • The Thai place near halfords is very nice. In fact all the thai in Ealing has proved to be lovely. Its the only place we bother with now that the Spanish place closed down.
