• I'm interested on peoples thoughts on Stevens choice of tyres, not the brand (Schwalbe), Steve has gone all out tubeless, one of his sponsors

They sound great with that self sealing liquid you pour in though Im not a convert and have only ever used clinchers and tubular tyres

I mean its long distance, Ok they self seal, though what about a major fail with a puncture that won't self seal?, you can boot a clincher, can't see how you'd boot a tubeless, and a en-route tubeless tyre change looks like a major operation in comparison of the clinchers?

Also I cant see any difference in weight or rolling resistance

    Maybe Im missing something?

  • You can use tubes if they don't self-seal.

So, basically for small stuff, they self-heal, saving time having to faff about with tube swapping and for anything more serious you can always stick a tube in them and carry on like a normal clincher.
