Wow some lovely touches on that green frame - any pics of the second one? Great find!
Looked into Rixon last year when I had a chance to pick up one up, all I remember is that they were mostly built by Neil Shankland who worked for Rick Green Cycles at the time and now works for Atlantic Boulevard - both based around Chesire East.
May be worth getting in touch with one or the other for some more info?

No way, what a small world! Very talented for sure
In that case I really hope my info's correct - it was mostly collected online/from a few mechanic friends. Would be interesting to find out, so if you get the chance to update this thread in the future please do :-)
Best of luck with your search

Yep, Rick Green's Son, of Cheshire = Rixon
I have one myself that I'm in the process of restoring, as I love the way it rides!
That said the clearances on mine are minute and super nimble. I personally fine that they don't fetch as much as other UK hand built brands, but they are great. If you do end up parting with one/them can you give me a heads up as it looks to be my size.
Cheers Andy

I used to own a matching pair
Here's some info I got from the seller of the lo-pro when I bought it
"Thanks for bidding and winning my frame. The frame was built for me by Neil Shankland in the early 90's, my name is Paul Green, and me and my father run a bike shop in handforth Cheshire. His name is Rick, hence the name RIXON on the frames we sell (rick's son). At the time, it felt the frame cost me a fortune as 753 had to be silver soldered at a specific lower than normal brazing temperature. I chose to have it made with a full Cinelli cast lug set as it was going to be used by me. I used it primarily for individual and team pursuiting at the national champs for a few years at Leicester track and then at Manchester in the late 90's. The UCI then outlawed bikes with different wheel sizes, and so except for the odd TT, the bike has been unused for 15 years.
Neil Shankland runs a business repairing and renovating steel frames called Atlantic Boulevard in Bury Lancs. at that time Neil made approx 20 frames a year for us. Allas no more." -

Tidy looking frame ciao. With the mudguard and rack mounts would make a sweet fast weekend tourer.
