Anyone tried the Prendas Belgian winter hat?
http://www.prendas.co.uk/prendas-ciclismo-belgian-style-winter-hat.htmlI want something to keep my ears warm that's better than the headwarmer+cap combo I had on the last couple of days.

Nice.
I've just hit the buy button, so watch the temperature rise.....

Not sure about the colour choices (or lack of). How stiff is the peak (ooh nurse)?

Just bought http://www.walzcaps.com/caps_winter.html in black. Shippings is 7$ to EU.

It's not: no stiffener, but the material is quite thick and the peak short, so it holds shape fine.
I don't know if the design is the same though: they're super helpful on the phone and can likely tell you when the ninja version is back in stock.

My Madison Isoler cap arrived in the post yesterday. It is indeed 100% Merino Wool, and looks to be very well made, and a nice fit.
Shame I didn't get round to wearing it though today - far too warm at 8 degrees! I will report back when the mercury drops below zero.

Well Jack Frost had sprinkled white fairy dust all over my lawn this morning, so I thought I'd give the cap a go.
Tried to put it on under my helmet, but it just felt too bulky. It probably would work, but I couldn't be bothered to try adjusting all the straps etc, so I just went without the helmet, which was strangely liberating. So nice not to have the wind noise from the helmet straps, and the extra bulk that a helmet brings.
I'd never really appreciated how much a nice warm head makes the rest of you feel warm. It's properly toasty. Fit is good - it covers my ears well. One thing that this cap is not is windproof. I was slightly concerned that the wind would blow straight through it, keeping me cold, but this didn't happen. Kept my head nice and warm, and the breeze kept my head from getting too sweaty, along with the superb wicking properties of the merino wool.
Overall, I'm sold on the idea. If you've never tried a winter cap, go for it!

I bought one too. I look like Charlie Brooker in it apparently. Just because beard methinks. Not used it yet.

I use one of these, most other things don't cover my ears. My head is 60-61cm in motorcycle helmets. Most other hats I've tried leave little gap at the bottom for cold air to come in.
It is quite thin so fits under a helmet well and also doesn't get too smelly.

that's an insult to charlie brooker!

You know I'm way sexier than Brooker. We appear to be equally cynical though.

Well there are only 2 sizes they offer - Large/Extra Large and Small/Medium.
I figured that as I have a 'normal' sized head, and I'm a bloke, I'd just go for Large/Extra Large. Seems to fit fine, and the label inside just says 'L'. If you've got a small head, you are of the fairer sex, or your avatar is a selfie, then go for a Small/Medium.
The helmet I wear is a 'medium', with adjustment from 54-61cm head circumference.

Again, thanks for the info - I also wear a Medium (Giro) helmet and Large Rapha caps, so I'll go L/XL in this then.

I can confirm that the Madison Isoler cap is pretty damn good. Nice ear coverage and temperature regulation.

Do anyone have some ideas of which cap have the biggest ear flap?
