CX season is slowly coming up in the southern hemisphere, and I was looking at one of the Hongfu CX bikes. Yes/no? Would hongfu frames be better suited to road only? Frames FM286 and FM 266...still undecided on discs vs canti, need to do a bit of reading there.
Edit: or should I just go an OTP Giant/Merida?

You say "oh dear". I say "considerable mass saving and only slight risk of undercarriage damage".
-
• #3231
Is that from the AliExpress product description?
-
• #3232
The AliExpress would be:
"saving considerable mass! only (slight) risk of damage to undercarriage" -

Have you tried being less fat? Considerably cheaper and also minimal chance of damaging your undercrackers as an added bonus.

• #3234
I am trying that too. Have you got any tips?

Ride a heavier bike more often with greater exertion.

If I told you, I'd have to eat you...

Also - fwiw I've lost some more weight recently but mostly just been replacing fat with muscle. For this you will need to go to the gym and pick up heavy things.

The price difference is pretty big, but the 296 is Toray T700 while the 066SL is T1000 (I think the 066 is T700 as well), should be stiffer. The geo is different as well, which fits you better? Also there's the weight difference. My 55cm 296 comes in at 1042g for the frame and 375g for the forks (uncut), while the 66SL should come in at 950-1000g for the frame. Also, why not the 069?

i think the ever so slightly taller HT will be better suited to myself on the 296. gonna order now ha

my 50cm 66SL is 1020g frame painted and BSA shell ..
069 had some front shifting issues with 6800 at least .. read over at WW.

• #3244
do you mean the 296?
-
• #3245
