Just to let people know, coshgirl has PM'd me letting me know this is verified, but that it hasn't been picked up by the media yet. I'll switch the logo only when the verification arrives but will leave the thread up until then.

Condolences to family/friends...

I went past on way home tonight at 6.45 pm. police on cordon said they didn't know what had happened exactly but one said it involved a truck and cyclist and the blue tent is up -so probably a fatality. The truck was in the road outside the firestation and tent next to it . The corner shop and the concierge at my flats seemed to know more about it - but No idea if they are passing on rumours
(I also got ranted at by bloke buying can of beer about danger of cyxling on the roads and danger of cyxling on the pavements so not sure where he expects me to cycle ..?)
I tweeted abput it being a fatality as that was what policeman had said ... but I'm not 100 per cent sure

What I am 100 per cent sure about us that homerton high street is a very nasty road. I cycle Hackney to Kew every day and homerton high street is one of the worst bits of my journey. Very narrow but with heavy traffic and freight funneling in from A 12 and other major routes. It has loads of sideboards and difficult junctions
