Buy the fastest and most powerful you can possibly afford. Max processor/RAM/HD
The 15" Retina MBP are good value IMO - I have no trouble doing hefty photoshop work on mine and large high res preview indesign docs etc. etc. External monitor for home is a must.
Even after a year I'm consistently surprised at the slick speedy feel.
