Dolan Pre Cursa vs Condor Lavoro

Posted on
  • Those with the knowledge, answer me this...Dolan or Condor?

Both frames have proven themselves to be worthy on the track, but which one should I choose. Money is not a deciding factor really.

I'm assuming the Condor is lighter?

To be used as Commute and Track bike. Currently riding a Fuji Track classic, looking for a stiffer and lighter frame to build my first fixed =)

    Cheers

  • Condor, even though I have managed to twist the rear end of mine.

  • If weight is a factor a 54 PC weigh in at 1800gr. If you are go at PC remember the reach is fairly long size wise - so consider sizing down.

  • I am 6ft and ride a 56cm Fuji Track. I would size down once i rode one and found it comfortable...does anywhere in London stock the Dolan?

  • 6ft and ride 54 PC - check out the Dolan thread for different opinions.

  • if you're riding a Fuji track classic then the dolan wouldnt really feel like an upgrade. The condor is nicer for sure.

  • I did ride the Lavoro with Mavic Ellipse, carbon fork and carbon seatpost. Was a great ride. Smooth, responsive and light as hell compared to my 'fat' Fuji

  • Worth noting that the Pre-Cursa frame is not light at 1800g (well not for alu anyway and a steel Steamroller is only 200g more) and may not be much lighter than your Fuji (although don't know what Fuji frame weight is)

Saying that it is still easy to get a close to 7KG bike without spending a whole lot of money or going for super light parts.

  • @Borek when did that happen?

  • rode the fujis down at hh for ages before buying a pre cursa and it definitely felt like an upgrade,

It's very stiff so I haven't got any complaints from a performance point of view but I do think the condors look nicer..

Definitely go 56 if you go pre cursa..

  • Which one would ride better on the road? I'm assuming that's a pretty irrelevant question...lol!

  • They're both track bikes so they're designed to be stiff.
Fine on the roads if the roads near you are in good condition, a nightmare if they're not.
If you find the commute a problem buy a titanium or carbon seat post.
