SOLD: Colnago Master 56,5x56 Columbus Gilco Tubing

  • Hi,

I'm selling my Colnago Master which I think is a Master Light.

    • Cataye

This is a Colnago Master with Gilco Tubing which I suspect is a Master Light because of the Precisa front fork. When new it was owned by a racing team and hung a season in the truck of the team as spare frame, never got used though. That's why it has the mount bracket for a race number and on the top tube it has Colnago on it instead of the type of the frame.

Overall paint is in good condition, has traces of use and the usual paint chips. On the front, just above front brake, a few bigger flakes of paint have come off (see pictures), this didn't bother me actually. Chrome is good. Wheels are straight. One thing concerning the right shift-lever: it shifts once you got the hang of it but it might need a little tweaking to get that solved, think this is a common issue. Has been a few month's since it had been driven so it might need a bit of adjusting on brakes and shifting.

Price: 900,- euro shipped to UK and most EU countries (I'm based in Belgium).

  • No interest ?
Is this bike too expensive ?

I'm open to offers if it is.

  • It's a bit ragged for the dorrah, compare with this. Maybe give it a clean?

  • Having a Precisa fork doesn't make it an X-lite or a Lite.

    Most masters had them.

Your pricing is on the strong side for the setup

  • /\
this , doubt it's an x lite, circa 96 given seat tube lug stamp, and seems novell decor

  • it could be an x-light though, the lack of decal and decor causes confusion
looking at the tt cable guides, they are external and located on the underside, like this

on my master olympic circa 96 they are internal

so i'll eat my words and agree with vendor, this could well be an x-light

  • to confound us further, here is an en x-light with internal routing

    so there is uncertainty

  • Hi all,

    Thanks for your opinion.

@6pt & Spicep1: I didn't clean the bike, nor used a good camera to shoot the pics (just my cell). But as said, I'm willing to consider offers in case my pricing is too high.

@saarf: It looks like it has indeed the decor of the '95 Novell team which confirms the story of what the PO told me:

So considering it is a 1995 Master bike, which one is it ? :)

    Best regards,
    Diesel

  • i'd say 96 (as i said before) because of the stamp on the seat post./tube lug
novell was 94-95, but the decor was used on retail bikes, like mapai gb or rabobank decor, so team decor does not mean team bike
most x-lights have the decal saying so, but x-lights usually do come with external routing
this a 92-95 master in novell decor i bought in belgium a while back

you can see the rear stays have a clover cut out

  • Hi,

As there is a general consensus that 1k+shipping is too much I'll have the price dropped:

    I'll take €900 shipped.

    Best regards,
    Diesel

  • I've sent you a PM.
