This is how the great group set debate is also resolved, when people buy Shimano.

Seems to have a lot of time on his hands, he should maybe get a girlfriend or something.

I bought a 4-slice that was 1/10th the price of the Dualit. It's shiny and it works. Much yay.

Buy cheap, buy twice doesn't count when I can buy 10 cheap ones for the same price as a Dualit. I'll be dead before the 10 cheap toasters are.

Pictures or it didn't happen...

No point doing things by halves, just get an Aga. Best toast ever.

Whilst this thread is alive, any suggestions for a 2 slice toaster that will actually fit a full slice of bread in it rather than half sticking out. Preferably not a dualit as they cost a bomb and seem to be massive.

Ignores it all.

Yes, I took it all on-board, analysed the various options and thought you were all wrong. :)

Anyway, you're all sacked from toaster knowledge for not suggesting this bad boy...

In your toaster thread, making porridge instead.

Isn't that a bit of overkill for a one bedroom flat in Ealing though?

He got paid actual money to "write" that.

Is it a general rule that cheap toasters have tiny slots and other ones can actually fit bread?

A three slice toaster?
What's that all about?

• #70
Still fine - every part of every model can be replaced.

Rule of threes. Three fried eggs on three pieces of toast rules.
Two not enough. Four and greedy guts will need a shit real soon.
Three is the magic number.

As long as it's a Duralit...

I've had a dualit 4 slice since 1986, but when the timer broke (a wonderful brass Junghans mechanism) the replacement part was a crap plastic piece of rubbish that had to be bodged in to fit.
They are trading on the past reputation, their current products are just over priced rubbish that are no better than the rest.
When I spoke to the service dept about another part that broke which they no longer made their answer was "buy a new one mate" no help there then!
What a shame that such an indestructible toaster has been dumbed down to such a low level. Don't waste your money on a now unjustified reputation from the past.
It's only resolved if he bought a Dualit.
Otherwise it's just temporarily resolved.
