looks like a fun project, setting it up fixed?
-

Fixed yes.
The ambrosio discs are a weird beast, they have one side fixed threading one side freewheel thread all with a nice little screw on cover that fits on both sides, BUT they do not have a real braking surface so kinda strange. They have a hollow axle for quick release which I'll swap out for a solid axle for now (quick release is not strong enough to hold the axle in place for fixed/brakeless). -

Shame it's not 700/700 for dual disc mode

^^you could also get some fixed tensioners for forward facing dropouts. or.just gotta hope they take normal bearings or summit
-
• #6
you should also get a bigger front ring to make it look like a lopro tt beast. you got crabonz and disc wheels an'all..
-
• #7
how much?
-
• #8
what do you mean by fixed tensioners ?.
bigger ring now installed, along with black seatpost, waiting on the salsa then pics will come. -
• #9
He means you can use chain tensioners with a qr axel rather than switching it to a bolt on

Would be interested in tensioners for forward facing dropouts, have a link ?.
Don't worry, I used the Fscking Search and found them: http://www.lfgss.com/thread19638.html
Might think about it, solid axle is preference though, bearings are cup/cone so should't be an issue. Here is a teaser of the stem:http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTEzNFgxMTM2/z/kH0AAOSwC81TYtEP/$_57.JPG

Hey, really cool project!
Regarding that stem though, i've read about this some time ago so just to let you know there were some safety issues. Read here http://www.salsacromotostem.com

Sold it to a gentleman from Hamburg in Germany. Admittedly it was a pinch to small for me.

@BigH Ambrosio Disc is Tubular, Carbon Fiber with foam filling. I have three of them, they are Freewheel one side and fixed the other side. They have some rim damages, I have fixed up one using epoxy and Painted using gloss black, looks ok, rides ok. Will hopefully have time to fix up the others at some point.
Bike and CP #3 for me. My wife is happy as long as they are not all in our living room at one time.
Received this Lo-Pro frame from a guy with waaay too many nice bikes. At 55CM it is a tad small for me but I think with some bullhorns it will work. Frame is in good condition, chrome is tatty but came with a nice 650c fork.
Shoehorned in a rough campagnolo record headset I had lying around.
BB is a Campagnolo chorus 111mm.
Campagnolo NR Cranks and a sugino mighty 42t 3/32 chainring.
Front is a Zipp 404 tub 650c with a miche hub.
Rear is a carbon ambrosio disk I have three of, will paint it black and install a black tubular.
I have a NOS Salsa black stem in the post and a black seatpost.
