Not to sound a douche but I think using a modded P5 would of brought him a bit closer to the record. Brandle and Jens were both on converted Scott's and Treks respectively

Is a UCI-legal P5 actually faster than a T4? I suspect that most of the improvement from P4 to P5 came from the nose-cone and deep fork, neither of which is UCI-legal.

The tube shapes are a lot deeper on he P5 than the T4. Meaning there would of been at least some are advantage. An I thing without a brake you could of used the Tri fork(it's uci illegal because of the brake cover not being structural)

Explain plz.

it's as if no actual carbon track frame is worthy of the hour or something. just modified tt bikes. will a felt rider, if one takes upon the hour in the future, end up with a ia or da with track ends and a road or tt crank?
this bike still looks cooler. more interesting.
good attempt by jack bobridge. stayed up all night to watch it. it was cool to see shane perkins cheer him on towards the end.

Bobridge used Brezza Nanos on the day rather than Aduros it seems. Terrible choice of helmet and arm position compared to his usual pursuit stuff.

Wow... thank you! What do you think was going on there? He looks like he went out waay too hard and slowed consistently towards the 40km mark, only then did he bring it back a bit.
Even more interesting (I think) is that the variability in Bobridge's speed. Around the middle of the effort he's up at 53km/h then a few laps later he's down at 49km/h and then back up to 52.5km/h again after another couple of laps. It looks to me like someone's told him he's dropped below WR pace and he's put in a huge and unsustainable effort to pick himself up before dropping back again, and he makes 4 or 5 of these efforts.
Brandle and Voight were metronomic by comparison

That's great – really tells a story.
Clearly weren't enough minutes in that hour for Jens. #shutupclock

A Felt-sponsored rider could use their Tk-FRD frame (certainly not an IA, since that isn't UCI legal), just as Cervelo-sponsored Bobridge used the T4. For some of the other ProTour frame sponsors, track frames are either non-existent or a token low-end offering.

Look two posts above yours, Peter!

You seem to be forgetting the Brit that crashed before even getting to the track. Just sayin'

Who? Dowsett? Doesn't count. He's from Essex so not strictly British.

Pew pew shots fired ;-)

For my 2 cents, I felt that he pushed up the pace a little too early and then suffered because of it.
Either way a wicked start to the day ,
me and my girlfriend shouting at the phone over breakfast.. -

Apparently just before the attempt he felt a bigger gear was in order and went with 106 gear inches
-
• #394
Aren't negative splits the way to ride these kind of efforts? Why were his coaches letting him do 55km laps
-
• #395
I would've thought so but then I'm really good at pacing ;)
Simple explanation: they thought he was more capable than he proved to be on the day. Maybe he left too much form on the roads around Adelaide?
-
• #396
Was it seven days ago he coffin-burried himself on that climb?
-
• #397
You're not allowed on the Cote d'azure if racing. They'll stop you from going there! [ not allowed as significantly shorter than going round the black line ]
-
• #398
Apparently he said he was recovered from the TDU but maybe he'll question that now, I really don't know. I'm sure they'll be analysing the shit out of it - I know I do when I fail to hit a target - how much of their conclusion they'll make public is anyone's guess.

You are, but only if you collect one of the Blue Pill Powerups available on the banking briefly during prime number laps.

The hour is even more delicate after this untergang - couldn't have been written better in a Grimm Bros tale.
Certainly looks out of place on a T4 rather than a P5.
I assume Rohan Dennis will be having a go on a TR01? Has it been announced yet?
